TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Please read these terms and conditions carefully before submitting your entry.
2. The awards are FREE TO ENTER and are open to any individual or organisation. Please see the award descriptions on our website for more information about the scope of individual awards.
3. Joint entries are welcome where appropriate but a lead proposer must submit a single entry form with the prior agreement of all parties. It will usually be the case that organisations nominate themselves. Entries must be submitted by an authorised person. Please ensure that you have the necessary authority from your organisation to enter before doing so as a forced withdrawal at a later stage is embarrassing for all concerned. The award winners will be chosen by a panel of expert judges drawn from RiskNZ's members and strategic partners, using a fair and reasonable judging process. The judges' decision is final and we will not enter into any correspondence about the results. Information contained in your entry will remain confidential to RiskNZ and the international judging panel, with the exception being that winning entrants will be required to participate in post awards publicity. RiskNZ reserves the right to publicise the results of the competition and use winning entries in press releases, case study coverage in RiskNZ's circular RiskPost on our website and other media channels. It is a condition of entry that entrants will co-operate with RiskNZ, sponsors and the media. Entrants will be expected to protect those aspects of their business that may be patentable, confidential, intellectual property, copyright etc.
4. The judges reserve the right to move entrants from one category to another if they believe that it is appropriate. You will be contacted if this is likely to happen.
5. RiskNZ reserves the right to withdraw any award should it be discovered that an entry includes false information. RiskNZ may audit any information supplied in your entry.
6. Please ensure that the name of the organisation or individual making the entry is shown clearly at the top of the first page.
7. Please start your entry with a 100 word summary of your case for winning the award.
8. Award entries must be kept to a maximum of 1500 words (1200 words for entrants to the Emerging Risk Practitioner of the Year category). Entries that exceed this word limit may be disqualified. Please do not submit additional material or appendices in excess of the word count - these will not be read by the judges. Testimonials may be included in addition to the word count but must be kept brief. Diagrams, images and illustrations can be included. Words appearing in images, tables or as graph labels etc. do not count towards the word total (within reason).
9. Our judges have to read many submissions in a short period of time. The purpose of the limitation on word count is to make this task manageable as well as being a test of excellent presentation. Exceeding the word count or attaching excess material does not give judges a positive view of your submission.
10. Examples, projects and information on which the award entry is based should be based largely on the 2016/17 business year and relate to risk management activity practiced within New Zealand.
11. The closing date for entries is 4pm, Friday 14 July 2017.. Late entries will not be accepted.
12. The judges reserve the right not to issue a shortlist or make an award if, in their view, none of the entries submitted meet the required standard.
13. The winner of each category will be acknowledged and awarded at the RiskNZ 2017 Conference dinner on the evening of Thursday 17 August 2017.
14. The judges may also make highly commended awards in any category.
15. Winning entrants will be required to participate in post-awards publicity. RiskNZ reserves the right to publicise the results of the competition and use winning entries in press releases, case study coverage in RiskNZ’s circular Risk Post, on our website and other media channels. It is a condition of entry that entrants will co-operate with RiskNZ, sponsors and the media. Winners, runners up and those highly commended may refer to the competition in their own publicity material following guidelines set by RiskNZ.
16. By submitting an entry to RiskNZ's Awards of Excellence you provide your acceptance of the above terms and conditions.
17. RiskNZ may - with the winners' consent - put a category winner forward for the IRM Global Risk Awards.
