Conference 2017 is being viewed widely as an outstanding success.
124 delegates participated in 24 sessions across 6 streams. Nine new members joined RiskNZ through the conference. Feedback from participants and sponsors has been overwhelmingly positive – many applauding the breadth of highly relevant topics, the expertise of the speakers, and the excellent networking experience.
Conference presentations are now available on the RiskNZ website in the members’ only section.
The organising committee is to be commended for its efforts, and particularly for achieving a small financial surplus.
“I thought the conference was brilliant. A great balance between case studies and best practice advice. Speakers were engaging and represented a broad range of industries/organisations. Enjoy networking with other risk professionals, and made several good contacts. Nice touch having a barista there too!”
Thank-you to the conference participants able to respond to the online survey. Your feedback confirms the overall approach to the conference and selection of speakers was to your satisfaction. And some great feedback about how to build on the success of Conference 2017 for future events, and on-line presentations.
Some key findings that you will enjoy:
Survey respondents have praised our selection of speakers, and the value our overseas based speakers added. Andrew Bisset (SAI), Dale Cooper (Broadleaf), Carla Leidtke (Control Risks), Scott Jeremy McKenzie (Swiss RE) and Helen Lindgard all singled out for their worth.
“Many thanks for the opportunity to speak at the conference last week. It was an excellent event. Please pass on my thanks to the other organisers, who did a great job.”
“…. and WELL DONE YOU (and the team) for putting together such a FAB conference Sally!!”
“So appreciate your work on this - was really pleased personally with the opportunity to network and check out where things are at courtesy of such great speakers. I've also gained renewed enthusiasm and energy to apply the theme - both for the sector and in my business.”
Survey feedback has been very useful in helping inform us about what a future conference could look like. 80% rated the venue average or better, 30% rating it 5/5 – but alongside this is a strong call for us to consider a non-Wellington venue and to also consider a more formal conference setting.
