WINNERS FOR THE 2017 RISKNZ AWARDS OF EXCELLENCE HAVE NOW BEEN ANNOUNCED.  

Sponsored by JLT, the 2017 Awards were presented on the evening of Thursday 17th August at the Mac’s Function Centre in Wellington. The evening event as part of the RiskNZ conference, recognised and celebrated the successes of RiskNZ members who delivered on RiskNZ’s vision that New Zealand prospers because risk is well managed.

In addition to the four major category awards, RiskNZ also bestowed an Exemplar award to individuals, organisations or projects deemed to have achieved exceedingly high standards in an aspect of risk management.

THE MAJOR CATEGORIES WINNERS ARE:


1.       Risk Management Professional of the Year

Grant Avery

 An acknowledged authority and thought leader on project-portfolio management practice and the reduction of risk in high risk projects. A significant contributor to the risk management body of knowledge through publication and participation in industry events.

2.       Excellence in developing capability in Risk Management

NZ Police

From a position of inconsistent and poorly integrated risk management the NZ Police have successfully transformed to now having very highly regarded enterprise wide risk management performance. Attitudinal changes, investment in training and resources, and high level risk governance has positioned NZ Police as a role model for effective practical risk management.

EXEMPLAR AWARD FOR SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT

NZ Cricket

 NZC is recognised for exemplary performance and achievement developing an organisation-wide risk management framework, and sport-wide health and safety framework, that has complete buy in at every level, has already and continues to result in innovative developments, including a runway for enhanced digital tools, and has led to new and improved risk management practices that have demonstrably led to a greatly de-risked sport, both on the field and off the field.
