The Ministry for Primary Industries has announced an independent review looking at the biosecurity response to the cattle disease, Mycoplasma Bovis (M. bovis).
M.bovis was first detected in New Zealand in 2017, after a large number of cattle on a South Canterbury dairy herd began displaying symptoms of a novel disease.
The disease had not previously been detected in New Zealand, and it was soon established that this was a new incursion probably occurred as early as 2015.
