The US Embassy in New Zealand says new travel guidelines which have reclassified the country at a higher risk are “in no way a reflection on New Zealand’s Covid-19 response”.
The US State Department has changed its travel advisories this week, with New Zealand now in “Level 3: Reconsider travel”. That is one down from the top tier of “Do not travel”.
However, the Embassy said the change is due to the border restrictions rather than any Covid risk.
