Covid-19: Medsafe seeking information from Pfizer about possible third dose

New Zealand’s medicines safety agency is seeking information from drug company Pfizer after it declared its intent to seek the OK for a third dose of its Covid-19 vaccine overseas.

On Friday, international media outlets reported the pharmaceutical firm is set to seek emergency authorisation for a third dose of its Covid-19 vaccine in the United States, for better protection against emerging variants.

Medsafe group manager Chris James told Stuff any change to vaccine dosing or frequency of dosing would require data to be submitted to regulators to vary the provisional approval.
