Covid-19: New Zealand's Winter Olympians follow strict rules in lead up to Beijing

The New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC) is confident in China’s handling of a Covid-19 outbreak, weeks out from the start of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

Three Chinese cities – Anyang, Xi’an and Yuzhou – are in strict lockdown as Covid-19 cases increase, with most of New Zealand’s Olympians set to arrive in Beijing in a fortnight.

Anyang was the most recent to lock down on Monday, with 5.5 million people now confined to their homes after 58 new cases of Covid-19 were found, including two of the Omicron variant.
