The Awards of Excellence is set to honour achievements in the space of risk management and will follow RiskNZ’s Practitioner’s Day programme on 12th September in Wellington.

RiskNZ, the dominant sector and professional body in New Zealand bringing together those people and organisations managing risk, will be conducting its annual Awards of Excellence 2018 on 12th September 2018 at The Civil Aviation Authority in Wellington.

The annual RiskNZ Awards of Excellence honours notable achievements of individuals and organisations within New Zealand in the area of risk management over a period of 12 months.

“The annual Awards ceremony highlights the exemplary work done in the areas of risk management and risk practices among individuals and organisations across New Zealand. Our categories are designed to shine light on their achievements over the last twelve months, not only to reward them but also to inspire risk practitioners of today and the next-generation,” says Nigel Toms, Chair of RiskNZ.

Nominations for the Awards of Excellence, which closed in late July this year, brought in nominees from public and private sector organisations in New Zealand. These were then considered by the eminent judging panel comprising of Jacqui Lyttle, Risk Manager at the University of Canterbury, Denise Bovaird, management consultant at Navigatus Consulting, Grant Avery, Director of Outcome Insights and Geraint Birmingham, Director at Navigatus Consulting.

Both Jacqui and Grant are previous winners of RiskNZ Awards of Excellence.

“It has been both rewarding and inspiring to be on the judging panel this year for the Risk NZ Awards of Excellence. It was clear from the high caliber of nominations in each of the categories that organisations thrive when risk is owned at the board and management level, when risk conversations are championed throughout the business, and when risk management is well embedded in realising an organisation’s strategic objectives. Thank you to all applicants for sharing your journeys with us and congratulations on the outstanding achievements that you have attained,” says Lyttle

The Awards of Excellence ceremony this year will take place following the completion of the RiskNZ Practitioner’s Day 2018, which is scheduled to take place on the same day. The Day is focused on highlighting practices, experiences, stories and tools that are focused on moving risk management from mere practice to performance and achievement across organisations.

The RiskNZ Practitioner’s Day and the Awards of Excellence 2018 is made possible with the generous support of partners including JLT, CAA, Paladin, Navigatus and RiskDynamics.
