Kiwi-made masks back in vogue as Australia's Covid-19 crisis worsens

New Zealand mask makers are reporting a surge in fresh demand since the renewed Melbourne Covid-19 outbreak, some of it coming from Australia.

The country’s only maker of wool-based mask filters, Lanaco, said orders had been strong, but it had also recently fielded an order for 30,000 washable masks from Melbourne.

Chief executive Marc Michel said that since Lanaco did not make washable masks, it passed the request on to mask makers that it supplied its filters to.
