About the Speaker

Chris Kumeroa cut his teeth in the Military, primarily with New Zealand Special Air Services (SAS) as a young 19 year old focusing on Counter Terrorism, Human Tracking, Bush craft, short-long range Reconnaissance and Mountaineering with the Special Forces Mountain Troop. This took him around the world collaborating with other International Special Forces Groups, including the British 22SAS, Australian SASR, Armed Offenders Squad (NZ), Special Tactics Group (STG), South East Asian SF Groups and other African nation Specialists.

Over the last 20 years he has worked for the Team NZ, America One (Americas Cup), APEC1999, Lord of the Rings (Elijah Wood), British Foreign Office, Whorley and Parsons, Swedish and Egyptian Ambassador, Schlumberger, Chinese National Petroleum Company (CNPC), Lafarge, Kurdish Secret Service (ASIESH), ABB, Taylor Swift, Saudi Royal Family, NBC-Universal (George Foreman, Henry Winkler, William Shatner, Jeff Dye and Terry Bradshaw), Discovery Channel (Joel Lambert), Facebook, Twitter, Peter Theil (co-founder of Paypal with Elon Musk), recently worked with the State, secondment to the Operational Command Centre, vulnerable communities programme.

Chris received the Iraq Reconstruction Service Medal for services to the British Foreign Office and the Mutil-National Forces Iraq (MNFI) and studied towards a Masters in Science with a specific focus on Risk Management; Loughborough University, United Kingdom, is a British Security Industry Authority (UK) license holder, a life-member of the New Zealand Special Air Services (SAS) Association, Member of the NZ Security Association, member of ASIS International (NZ Chapter) and a member of the Institute of Directors, New Zealand and is the Co-founder of the NZ Security Sector Network 2019.
